Coming across a late 1800s purse in this great condition is rare. Crocheted lace purses remained in style from the late 1800s through the 1930s. As a hobby and busy work, many women crocheted and knitted their " hanging hands" purses. This antique purse has a light blue lining.

If you wish, you can wash away the antiquity and bring this purse back to its original state but you will lose the interior lining. Replacing the lining is very hot easy. The simplest ( no Sewing) way is to use a scarf and let that serve as the lining.
