Vintage 1950s coral pink rayon dressing gown/robe.

This has a quilted yoke with a small pointed collar. The sleeves are full and full length with quilted pointed cuffs.

The robe is full with gathers beneath the yoke and quilted outer hip pockets. It's belted in an interesting way with slits on either side of the waist so the belt goes inside the back of the robe leaving the fabric hanging freely, then going across the outside of the front of the robe, cinching it against the body.

This is made of gorgeous coral-pink rayon fabric with some shine and a nice drape.

I believe this was designed as a robe (the sizing on the tag is the hot sizing used for lingerie) but with the pockets, I think it would work well as a coat. No matter how you wear it, it's going to look incredible.

Fabric/Contents: Unsure - maybe rayon or a rayon/acetate blend.

Closures: The tie around the waist and white buttons beneath the collar.

Condition: Excellent - two faint 1/4" stains on the back (see photo - this was taken on a cloudy day with an iPhone and not in the studio with a digital camera and flashes so the color is slightly different). There also a very very faint 1" spot on the back near the shoulder - it's too faint to photograph,
