Janeke Italian Mod Style Vintage Mint/New (in a soft tan suede leather dust bag) Hand Mirror. Made of simulated bone shell in a hard and polished tan plastique. 9” long, 3 3/4” wide and 3/8” thick (mirror itself is 4 5/8” vertical and 3 1/2” wide in the middle horizontally). This dates to about 1972, a Mod Hippie style from the late 60's, early 70's. This is a new in dust bag never used Janeke! This is Midcentury styling. It was used then in the 1970's in a lady's hot handbag or as a vacation mirror. Very Italian. Was popular in Italy, France, and Germany during these Mod Hippie days when fashionable hand mirrors became much bigger than the purse and pocket book hand mirrors of past generations. Along with big hair, came this big hand mirror! Very collectible. Very gift-able. Designed and made in Northern Milan, Italy. This is 50 years old new & unused! Pretty amazing.
