Here is a lovely antique hand-painted paper mache round concave oil painting. The artist depicts a Winter snowy landscape . There is a church in the distance to the right and two people walking there at night. The moonlit sky adds a nice touch to this artwork. This is probably a Christmas Eve painting. I consider these paintings on paper mache plates to be a form of folk art from the Victorian time period. This one measures 10 x 10 in. and has a newer chain to hang it by on your wall. You could also remove the chain and prop this up on a easel. The art looks to have had some residual glitter added to the trees to the left. Most has worn off over time. On the hot back it is signed Painted by Carrie Boune Swift. The art is in good as is vintage ocndition with the typical chipping on the edges and a little to the left side. Most of these paper mache paintings were done from 1860-80s timeperiod, per the many I have sold before. I would date this one to the 1880-1900s time period.
Perfect for Victorian, antique Christmas decor, Primitive, farmhouse, and country decors.
*Since this is a VINTAGE piece of art it will not be totally perfect. All vintage pieces show some wear and signs of age. Please enlarge the pics to judge condition to your own standards.
