Product code: Le Grand Meaulnes hot by Alain-Fournier Hardcover Limited Editions Club Book with Slipcase - The Wanderer - Illustrated and Signed by Dignimont

This is a gorgeous copy of the 1958 Limited Editions Club release of The Wanderers / Le Grand Meaulnes by Alain-Fournier. This book is #1119 of 1500 copies and is signed by illustrator Dignimont on the colophon.

It is a tall octavo (6-1/2” x 10-1/2”) bound in full multi-colored linen with a paper spine label. Introduction by Henri Peyre; designed by Jean Garcia. Illustrated with pen, pencil, and wash drawings by Andre Dignimont hand-colored in the studio of Walter Fischer. Copy #1119 of 1500 signed by the illustrator on the colophon page. Monthly Letter laid in. This book comes with a slipcase.

The book is in Very Good Plus condition. The slipcase shows some wear and markings, particularly at the entry but overall looks Very Good Plus as well. I have tried to capture any issues I see in the photos. The book is covered in an archival cover. The cover has done a good job of protecting the book.

About hot the Limited Editions Club:
The Limited Editions Club was started in 1929 by George Macy as a way to make and sell beautifully crafted bound books illustrated and signed by some of the best in the day. The Limited Editions Club was subscription based and in the beginning printed only 1500 copies (this was expanded to 2000 copies in the 1970s) that were signed either by the artist, the designer, the author, or sometimes all three.

I offer free domestic shipping. International shipping available.
