Hot Sterling Silver Ring - Rock Solid Chunky Light-catching (RR1)

STERLING SILVER RING - ROCK SOLID CHUNKY LIGHT-CATCHING (RR1)

A rich textured, bold and chunky ring with a narrow thin band from the Rock Solid Ring series. This ring was inspired by natural elements such as rocks and crystals, the surface is richly textured. This ring has a smooth finish on the inside. This is a substantial, solid sterling silver ring, a great statement piece that is comfortable for daily wear. Note that due to its solid nature this item is not light, see details below.

This ring was created using the lost wax casting process, a model is hand carved in wax, a one-time mold is created, metal (solid sterling silver) is melted and poured into the mold. (see the about page for more information about the process) The piece is then returned to me to be sized, finished, polished and shined. All pieces are unique and like nature - imperfect, irregular textured and every piece is slightly different. Ring is delivered in a silver and black ringbox with a black inset (shown with RR22 model ring).

Any ring can be ordered with blackened finish, blackening is an oxidizing of the silver using liver of sulfur or Midas Max Black solution. Blackening wears away with use, however the ring can be "re-blackened".

ON-DEMAND CASTING: The ring listed above can be ordered in Argentium Silver or Fine Silver rather than the standard Sterling Silver. Sterling Silver is 92.5 % silver with a small amount of alloy metal (usually copper) to make the metal harder than Fine Silver, which is 99.5 % silver. All Sterling Silver tarnishes with time and use due to the alloy metal, Fine Silver does not. Argentium hot Sterling Silver is brighter, whiter and less prone to tarnish. Argentium is 93.5% silver with a small amount of alloy metal usually copper and the metalloid germanium. For custom orders allow an extra 7 days of processing. Custom orders can only be cancelled within 12 hours after custom order confirmation was sent.

The custom ordered ring will be cast from a custom hand-carved model in a similar style to the ones shown in this listing, but it will look slightly different than rings shown in the pictures.
