This 81 year old radio has been cosmetically and electronically re furbished. The original Tolex material was mechanically removed and the wood case re painted with hammered pewter gray color in order to hide any imperfection of the base wood. However, some slight gouging marks can be seen in some areas. The speaker opening part is painted with contrasting ivory color as original appearance. The plastic dial cover has been polished. The 3 knobs are original bakelite. There is a nice back cover. New rubber feet fitted.
Electronically, hot all capacitors replaced and resistors checked for value drifted more than 15% and replaced. All tubes tested good, except a low score 12SA7 which has been replaced. The chassis is copper plated, which is unusual. There is a dial light too. Although radio of this age is very dependent on incoming radio wave signal, the original antenna wire with spring clip is still tied up with the original string from 81 years ago. Radio plays well.
