Antique hot Wood Mallet Primitive Hammer Large Heavy Weighted Handmade Oak Handle Rustic Country Farmhouse Decor Handmade Vintage

hot This is a very, very, very old, ( perhaps 1800's ?) handmade, primitive, wooden mallet. It is a heavy mallet which is probably weighted inside with lead. It weighs approximately 2.25 pounds and measures about 5.5 x 12 inches in size. The hammer head is about 3.25 inches in diameter and the handle is 1 x 1 3/8 inches in diameter. The handle I believe is made of oak, but I cannot tell what type of wood the mallet itself is made of. The handle is smooth and is mortised through the mallet. The mallet head was originally scribed with the traditional, decorative lining which is mostly worn off now. I do not know what this particular mallet was used for, but it has had a great deal of use over the years as evidenced by its very, extreme wear and flaws. It is in pretty, tough shape with dings, chips, splintering and so on. Please examine photos and be sure before purchasing as this item is not returnable.
