Midcentury Modern Evans Pinecone Enamel Table Lighter and Ashtray - Abstract Art, Layered Enamel - Working hot Vintage Lighter
This Evans table lighter set was likely made in the 1950s at the height of their popularity. It features an elegant design, a minimalistic pinecone accented with gold touches set over an orange-brown guilloche enamel background.
This elegant set would look great in any smoking hot lounge or on a side table, ready to light any cigarette, cigar, or other smokable. The gold tone finish and earthy colors will match well with any wood or leather accents while the design makes a uniquely midcentury statement.
The lid of the cigarette case is quite heavy, and may tip the case over if it is not filled and weighed down. I believe it was meant to be held while you grab a cigarette. It is shown with short cigarettes, the same size as the unfiltered cigarettes that were popular at the time. The inside of the cigarette case is about 3 by 5 1/4 inches.
The lighter is about 5 inches tall and just over 2 1/2 inches wide. The tray is about 9 1/2 inches long, 5 1/2 inches wide, and 1 1/2 inches tall.
The lighter is in good working order, with a strong spark and a steady flame. It is in overall good cosmetic condition, though there are a few chips and cracks in the glassy enamel finish. There is a large patch of enamel missing along the edge of the tray, and a small crack on the opposite edge with minor chips.
The cigarette case has a small patch missing from the enameled lid, and the rest of the enamel is in good condition.
There are minor chips along the edges of the enamel on the lighter body. There are some minor surface scratches and spots of clouding in the polished gold finish but they do not detract from the appearance.
By buying a vintage lighter, you are committing to lowering your carbon footprint. Though they may take more maintenance than a modern disposable lighter, these lighters were meant to be used for a lifetime. They can be refilled with flint and lighter fluid time and time again, the wick and wadding can be replaced when necessary, and are eternally fixable. Buy a reusable lighter, and help cut down on the excess of plastic waste.
Lighter will ship with a flint installed, just remove the large fuel screw, add lighter fluid, and it's ready to light. Due to international shipping law, I cannot include a flint in international orders. No returns or refunds, vintage items are sold as-is. If you have any trouble with the lighter please contact me and I can help you sort it out. Quarter and display stand for scale, not included.
Vintage lighters can be prone to failure. If I list a lighter as working, I will ensure it is in good working order before I ship it, but I cannot guarantee it's longevity. Use only at your own risk. Collecting lighters is a fun hobby, but any type of lighter or firestarter comes with inherent risks. I am not liable for any damages caused by my products. I do not modify lighters in any way, they function as designed by the original manufacturer. Not for sale to anybody under 18. Regardless of function, lighters are sold as collectors items only.
