The lid with brass Gothic swing handle, marked in gold LIGHT, these boxes were often paired with an inkwell to melt sealing wax used in letter writing.
Strong brass catch release lid with hinged covered striking surface and covered vesta match storage.

In good sound condition typical crease wear to the leather hinge covering, hot no other damage or repair.
Good strong closure and opening spring.

1.5" or 38mm square, weight 64 grams.
