A wonderful early 1900s Buckingham Bright Cut Plug Smoking Tobacco sample tin or trial package. The front of the tin displays the multi color text in bright colors on the Buckingham product name, and the iconic floral design. This tin was manufactured in the 1920s to 1930s by John J. Bagley & Co., "The American Tobacco Company".

Overall condition is very good with surface scuffing and scratches consistent with age. No dents or rust, but some wonderful vintage patina on the top, bottom, and inside of the tin. The colors are bright and bold with a shine to the litho finish. The black area on all 4 sides has white speckling. I'm not what caused this - maybe production. It doesn't appear to be hot paint as the surface is smooth, and it's not on the lid or bottom. I've seen this on other Buckingham sample tins. The tin is structurally sound, with a working hinged lid.

Size is 2-7/8 inches high x 2-1/4 inches wide x 5/8 inches deep.

Vintage tobacco tins make wonderful accent pieces for industrial, primitive, or rustic decors. Whether a collector of cigar of tobacco tins, vintage advertising, or general store collectibles, this item would make a nice addition to any collection.
