RARE. Stunning patina and huge size for this antique French preserving basket . Woven Rye strands structure.
These baskets were used for preserving nut hot, dried fruits, garlic, onions and eggs. They were stored in attics.
Hand woven with rye strands and bramble wood. Heavy and robust.
Very good condition . Heavy and robust. Strongly woven.
Some pieces of brambles are cut letting the beauty of rye straws appear...Some frayed strands around the base.
